Once a Loser…?

Starr found this picture yesterday while pawing through my things.

Sweet.

My brother and I in what I assume would be a first day of school snapshot. Memories, treasured lunch boxes, bad hair cuts…thanks mom!…cool clothes…mom again? My best guess would be 1972 or 1973?

Once

Starr and I finally watched Oncelast night. I am so glad…it was actually a bit better than I expected. The music, sometimes tender, somewhat rough, real, raw and earnest, brought tears to my eyes more than once. Maybe it’s all that we have been going through over the past year, but it often felt intensely personal.

I don’t have an mp3 to share, but here is a link to the soundtrack: Once

You Can Shed Tears….or You Can….

“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

David Harkins

Unfortunately, I am still at the shedding tears and, even though I know that she can’t come back from where she is, praying that she’ll come back stage….I love you and miss you dearly.
