Sleep or Be Slept

Pressing the snooze button hoping for nine more minutes of blissful sleep, rolling over and snuggling further into my blankets, I hear a voice clearly in my head:

My eyes pop wide open, “wow, that was weird…what the heck does that mean?” I laugh, and then struggle with the question of will I remember it in eight minutes when my alarm goes off again? Will I be able to remember it later in the day, when I want to relay the thought to my daughter? No. No, I won’t. I know myself better than that….dammit. I really wanted that extra little bit of sleep. Instead of getting up, I send myself a text message, and rolled over for one very short minute of not sleeping before the alarm does its thing again. Damn.
