Sunday Ramblings

The winter storm is over and the sun is shining brightly this morning! It is beautiful. It rained more than it snowed and we ended up with just a few inches of snow that were mostly rained away by the end of the day yesterday.

Unfortunately this means that Starr’s snowman making contest is a no-go. Since registration fees for the kickball tournament were non-refundable, the sorority will be making a profit for their charity, but being repeatedly canceled isn’t what they wanted to happen!

After being under a winter storm watch for the past few days, we are loving the forecast!

Last night as I was putting together a list of supplies for green cleaning, I watched the first episode of the new series Life After People on the History Channel. Here is the trailer:

It’s interesting and a little unsettling. Funny thing…I kept hearing this song in my head throughout:

mp3: “Here’s Your Future” -- The Thermals
The Body, the Blood, the Machine
The Thermals-MySpace

As long as I am posting The Thermals, here is a more recent offering from their latest album:

mp3: “Now We Can See” -- The Thermals
Now We Can See

Looks like a great forcast! Isn’t mother nature beautiful? It’s cold(40 degrees) and raining here today, but we really need the rain to bring lake levels up and get the grass growing! Have a wonderful sunday! DJT.

I forgot, I came across an excellent cook book yesterday by Lulu Buffet who happens to be Jimmy Buffets sister. The name of the book is Crazy sista cooking! (www.crazysistacooking.com) I enjoy reading good recipes and then trying to duplicate them. I am going to track down a copy for myself and I will share!c ya!
