Swine Flu in the House

Starr has Swine Flu, or Strep Throat…possibly just a sore throat. Nothing less than a sore throat, because she definitely has that! With uck covered tonsils. *excuse me for a minute…I need to wash my hands*

This is one of last Sunday’s secrets over at PostSecret:

I knew when I saw it that it wasn’t Starr’s postcard, but it made me smile because it was her “secret” …last night she whined, “when I said that I hoped Swine Flu would come to my college, I didn’t mean me!” Ha. Sorry babe.

I was enjoying a rare night out with friends being pampered, experiencing a lovely foot soak, heated neck pillows, warm candle light, aroma-therapy, wonderful hand massages, wine and good food. While in my purse, my phone was on silent missing the calls from Starr. When I called her back, she was  sick, hot, tired and annoyed. Her room was too hot to sleep comfortably so her window was open. The open window didn’t help cool off the room, but did let in the obnoxious sounds of the Cinco De Mayo party happening outside.

“Who do I call for noise violations?” she asked and then broke down. Trying not to cry, and failing. Since I was out and about, I offered to pick her up so that she could sleep comfortably here, and she jumped at the offer. I hope that she recovers fast, she has papers to write, finals to study for, work to do and needs to move out of the sorority house. This is NOT a good time to get sick!!!

For either one of us!

  1. Lets vote for a swine flew holiday…I think we could all use a day off LOL

  2. I chuckle, because when my daughter was in college (and even now) I’m always the first person she calls whenever she gets sick. They must think we have some sort of magic wand to make them better (if only!) Stay well!

  3. We live in a neighborhood that has a University just down the street a bit. My eleven year old has already asked “So, how about I go to U of P then still live at home”. Now I shout ‘Yes!’ My husband isn’t so sure.
    Oh well.
    Let’s go wash our hands!

  4. Awwww! Hope Starr is feeling better soon!
