Braces?! Again?
Starr needs braces.
Again.
I was afraid of this. After the accident left her with a broken jaw which was repaired with a permanent plate and immobilization. I was concerned that her alignment may have suffered. I pushed her to see the orthodontist last year, but we let it slide. Her teeth are still pretty to look at, but she has been complaining of headaches and she can feel that her teeth are hitting incorrectly. It is so obvious to her that things weren’t right, she initiated a visit to her much loved orthodontist this week.
He retired. : (
The new orthodontist says yes, braces are needed. Real braces, complete with rubber bands! Invisalign is not an option for the fixes that she needs. They will cost $4500, but since we’ve already had braces through the office they offered us a discount…of $250!! That helps. Um, not really.
Ugh.
We might just have to defer this for a year or two until she is out of college.
Or live with headaches. Starr is in favor of this option at the moment!
Braces once is bad. Twice….ugh.

Perhaps a trip to Costco for a large supply of Tylenol will tide her over.

YOu are right. Her teeth look perfect. Headaches are the worst though. I better start saving for braces. $4500?!?! Jeesh.
Braces can be expensive! They first time around we lucked out with decent insurance. This time? Not so much.
i was in a jet ski accident about 7 years back and they (dentists) keep telling me with my jaw not being set right i will have to get braces in the future. they claim i will wake up one day, have horrible pain and know it’s time.

You had to have braces twice? I am sorry! That is no fun whatsoever!! We are going to sit on this for a while and see how it goes.

oh no! that stinks – to get braces again. Better to do it soon though and get it over with.
