Folding, Folding, Folding
I haven’t worked on fixing my blog in over 24 hours. I just walked away. I had another project calling my name.
Oh my, I just remembered that I need to add Sunny’s Heart to my widgets. It doesn’t mean much to those who visit, but it means something to me. Sunny used to sign her notes with this little heart next to her name. Here is one that I kept on the refrigerator until just recently; I didn’t want it to get ruined so I put it away. It was to me, for my birthday, she wasn’t my daughter, but she liked to call me mom and I loved it:
I scanned this card and played with the image until I came up with this, it’s imperfect, just like the original:

Starr and Skye have used the heart in the logo for their non-profit start up, and I have used it here. I used it to make a piece of Facebook flair:

Starr decided that this heart would be the perfect first (gah!) tattoo (Side note: Yay! It looks like my older photos are here! What a relief! I only have to fix the last few months of posts…not everything!):
I have digressed. Big time. I was going to talk about all the brochures that I have been folding for Starr and Skye’s next 5k in August. It is a good thing, they are more focused, they have a better plan, they learned so much from last years event. However, as I am folding I see Sunny’s name, her picture, pictures of her family at last years event and even the heart. These things are bringing up memories, the feelings of loss and helplessness, grief for her parents and sister, for Starr. The tears flow regularly. I will have them done this afternoon. It’s hard. I never know where the emotional hit is going to come from. This week it’s tri-fold brochures, next week? Who knows.
What I do know is that I miss her. I hate this reality.

I am sorry you are feeling sad. The heart is a beautiful symbol to represent Sunny’s life.
Please stop by my blog, I have something for you!
SURPRISE

oh goodness… seeing whereas i dont do bloggyland on the wkend… i just skimmed over last couple of posts and OH MY!! i woulda freaked out!! but now that im finally getting to you on monday morning… i can say… your blog looks beautiful! love that header.
I love the heart and it *does* mean something to me. It’s actually a kind of relief to see it here every time I visit.
And I *love* that Starr got it for her first tattoo – how fitting and sweet and just perfect! You did a great job turning it into a digital image.
Martha! Thanks for the award! And thanks for the lovely words!
Lizzie: Thanks! I finished them all. Starr said that she ordered 1000, I counted 1245! It’s possible that I miscounted, but not by 245! Anyway, one more job done.
Randi: Thanks! I’ve still been messing with it, but I think I’ve found a theme that I like. I hope.
Barb: I am glad to hear that it means something to you! I liked the tattoo idea too…in fact, it’s on my personal “to do” list also.
