PostSecret Monday

Sunday’s are the day that a new set of postcards are posted over at PostSecret. For those of you who are unfamiliar with PostSecret, it is an ongoing community project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secrets on one side of a homemade postcard. Select secrets are then posted weekly on the PostSecret website, some are used for PostSecret’s books and museum exhibits.

The secrets are often funny, silly, touching, uplifting, sad and even tragic.

Nearly every week there is at least one secret that resonates with me in one way or another. These are the two that hit me from yesterday’s postings:

Words to live by:

And one that made me cry…so hard:

  1. I love his postcards. I had never heard of him until one time my daughter brought one of his PostSecret books with her on a trip we were taking. I remember sitting on the plane reading it from cover to cover. One minute I’d be laughing and the next minute I’d have tears in my eyes. Just like what happened when I read your post!

  2. Postsecret is one of those things that makes my week every time. It certainly cheers up a Sunday.

It pleases me that I recognise the secrets… it feels like a small secret in itself!

  3. i’ve heard of this site… and i think i’ll head there now to check it out… and that lasat one is just so very sad…

  4. What an awesome project. I had not heard of it before. I love the 1st one, and the second it tragically sad.

  5. Kelly, honestly, I’ve never read any of these though I’ve known of it for some time now. I don’t know if I could take it. I loved that first one but the second felt like a sucker punch to the gut. Maybe because I have SUCH a funny son who keeps me in stiches. That POOR mother. I really want to check it out but I don’t know if I have it in me…….thanks for the link, though. Oh, and we might see your movie recommendation tonight. I’ll let you know.

  6. UGH. That second post card is a killer. Great idea though! I’ll check it out.
