I won’t elaborate, but Starr amazes me. Her strength and determination in the face of this tragedy. Her ability to see what she needs to do. Her insight.
She had one of those moments last night, but this time she didn’t need to come home and escape. She used her sorority sisters and called me later to talk. It’s good. My job as “safe place” may be fading a bit, but that is the way things should be. Healing, growing, moving forward.
We are lucky, lucky that she survived the accident. Lucky that she has the character to grow from it and honor Sunny at the same time….but it sure isn’t easy.
Always love to Sunny’s family who are never out of our minds. Never.

It’s always amazing to me when I see pictures of Sunny and Starr. They both have smiles that look like they could light up a darkened room. I’m glad to hear that Starr is doing okay. It’s a tough path that no one would ever choose to travel. But as you’ve said, Starr is strong. You should be proud.
And Sunny, I’m convinced is lighting up the heavens with her smile…
It’s funny, because not long after the accident, I thought about Sunny as “glowing”. She just shined. Within 24 hours of that thought, Starr said the exact same thing to me.
I see that glow/shine every time I see her smile.
I don’t know the situation, but I do love love love to see pictures of people with genuinely happy smiles on their faces.

You may be amazed by your daughter, Kelly, and why shouldn’t you be. But YOU are the one who inspires and amazes me. Starr will look back one day and realize how selfless you really are. They can’t see it at this age but she will. I do.
