Again and Again

It seems that I keep falling into these emotional holes lately. Not blogging (I’ve had things that I wanted to share, but lacked the energy to do so), not reading my favorite blogs, not reading real books, not engaging with my friends…ugh, not keeping up with the laundry. Hiding out.

Thanksgiving was fine, the food was good, but for Starr and I it is really just another day. We do wish that we had family that lived close by to share it with. We have joined other families in years past and it always felt uncomfortable. We don’t always do it alone, I think my folks were able to come for a visit last year…even then, it is just four of us. There are many days that I long for a big family…other days that I truly cherish our small one. It’s not Thanksgiving that has me down, I am pretty sure that I know where this is coming from. Fixing it is something else all together.

In an effort to shake off my funk, I decided to join a couple friends last night as they joined in on a local drum circle. I don’t drum…yet…but I really enjoyed just being there.  I took a couple pictures with my cell phone to share, but they don’t come close to capturing the energy. It was a lot of fun and just what I needed. Not a cure all, but it definitely gave me a lift! I will be back!
