Hi- I saw your post under my blogher ads. We gave up our land line years ago and almost never miss it. Except for what Kimberly said, when I have to call customer service somewhere the cell phone interprets a dropped call when I am on hold. Weird.
But if I had a great phone number I might have reconsidered, those are hard to come by!

and the same thing has happened to a cell number ive had.. finally just had to change it!

This is one of the reasons we no longer have a land-line phone. Too many calls for other people and telemarketers. It was insane!

I’m the same with the phone…I never answer it.
I don’t have a land line. It’s great not getting telemarketer calls. The only downside is when having to call a customer service call center, the sound is awful on a cell phone plus those dropped calls really suck when you’ve been on hold for 10 minutes and then lose the call when someone finally picks up.

I have had this collection agency problem for years–and my name is NOT common.

I answer, say I’m not that person, give the last 4 digits of my phone number and ask to be removed from the list. It’s a pain.

My number growing up was 259-9492. Easy to remember…20 years later. Many people are going for cell phones only nowadays. Did I just sound 80?

I don’t use the land line, we have only because it was my mom’s. She is not ready to give it up, although she uses her cell far more! She has had the number since I still lived at home, 1980…. we got it. We get calls for the previous people who lived here. No similar name, nothing, they are obviously searching on the address, not just the name in attempt to contact them. Mom, Dad, son – all get collection calls, and we still get mail for them here – they have been gone almost 2 years! CRAZY!
