I have to keep my garbage outside the garage because it's offensively stinky!!!! Even though I could put it in the trash can outside by the house, and we had twice a week pick up, with the heat, it would get nasty, and there was always a chance that something would get in it. We have twice weekly pick up here too, there is a little "garbage room" with two trash cans right outside our front doors. In the summer I froze the stuff that would get nasty.... but this winter, there really is no need to! We recycle too, right now I have two big bags to go to the recycle dumpster. I usually take it up once week, but with the snow.. it's been more like three! But it reminds me how much we really are saving from the landfills! I have been known to freeze my garbage, especially when we lived in FL. That's something to think about when you are limited to where you can put your garbage.
