1000 Cranes

Starr and I were watching the news last night and saw this story. She turned to me and said “you have to blog this!” I was already taking notes! I found the news story and also a recent short moving speech that Frank made at a local event:

In many cultures around the world, the crane has long been considered a symbol of health, longevity, and commitment. The ancient Japanese tradition of senbazuru promises that a person who folds 1000 origami cranes will be granted a wish, such as long life or recovery from illness. (source: 1000 Cranes of Hope)
