Not All Fathers Deserve a “Day”
I guess you could say the same thing about some moms, but I don’t have a deadbeat mom to deal with. I have Starr’s dad.
This year Starr and her dad are in the same place they were last year. He hasn’t tried to reconcile with her, he hasn’t caught up on child support–we haven’t received a payment in nearly 3 years, he hasn’t helped with any of the tens of thousands of dollars in expenses from her car accident (most of which were incurred because he failed to keep her medical insurance up to date, which he was legally required to do)…or even help with college for that matter. She needs braces again, because of the accident, to the tune of $3500, but we can’t afford it.
Nope, we didn’t celebrate him as a father yesterday. He is lucky I didn’t send him a hate letter. Hmm. Maybe tomorrow.
He has a new girlfriend. I don’t know about you, but who hooks up with someone who isn’t doing all that he can to do right for his children?? Oh well. Not my problem.

YOu are right. Not all Dad’s are great. I’m sorry for Starr, but happy that she has such an awesome mommy like you!

too bad you guys don’t live here in georgia.. if a father doesn’t pay his child support then the state will garnish wages till they are caught up or whatever.. and yep! it really happens…

Oh, they are supposed to garnish his wages if they know where he works, but he doesn’t let the state know what he is. By the time the state finds out, he has moved on to a new position. Slippery.
You are right about the girlfriend, he has probably filled her with lies. He is a good liar. It’s sad.
I’m so happy for Starr that she has you. You make up for what he is lacking!

That’s right! Nobody should get a whole day of celebration once a year just because they ejaculated. It takes a whole HELL of a lot more than that!

My dad finally decided he really cared about 10 years ago–now he never forgets to send his grandkids money on their birthday. It makes me laugh, but whatever.
