I’m Still Diet Coke Free!

Posted by on November 23, 2010 in Life | 11 comments

It’s been four weeks!! I am drinking tons of water and the occasional Sweet Tea.

My weak moments are each and every morning when I open the fridge and see this:

Starr is still drinking Diet Coke, so I’ve been keeping it on hand. It is so tempting, cold, easy, bubbly…mmm! But I have resisted and reach for the water instead.

Yay!

I think my goal for this week is to move those cokes to the garage fridge so that they aren’t so tempting. I wonder how Starr would feel about that??

    • Then you can fill your mini fridge with water or tea!! : )

  2. Kelly, Jeez, just get rid of those cans all together. Why torture yourself with them sitting in your fridge like that? I don’t really drink soda but if I was trying to kick something(habit), I wouldn’t have it right in front of me.
Okay, now, go get rid of those things.

    • You have a point!! I really should.

  3. Wow. Such self control!

Remind me again why Diet Coke is so bad for me? I have one in front of me now, too.

    • I can’t say whether it is bad for you or not. But because of my daily headaches, I have decided to limit the number of artificial foods and chemicals that I consume wherever possible. I have been off artificial sweeteners for a year or so now. Except for the Diet Cokes, until a month ago. I just don’t think those chemicals were/are doing me any good in the long run.

  4. Are you feeling better without Diet Coke? That’s a hard habit to break! Good for you!

    • I am not feeling any better physically without the Diet Coke, but I am feeling more in-control. Mentally, I KNOW that water is healthier for me and it feels good to have stepped past this habit/addiction.

      • So far!! :-)

  5. Good for you Kelly! Keep it up! I very rarely drink any kind of sodas. I drink water with a dab of unsweetened cranberry juice. When I feel like something carbonated, I’ll drink Pellegrino…

  6. I have been drinking one a day for quite a while now. I used to be an addict, then I went cold-turkey for a while, but I’m happy with one a day now.

It is a hard habit to break for sure. Kudos to you!
